DupliFind finds identical copies of your footage, project files and renders. What you imported twice, copied to three drives. Done in minutes.
Scan is always free. No credit card needed to get started.
Sound familiar?
You are not the only one. Every video editor, motion designer or colorist deals with this.
Footage on three drives: laptop, external SSD and the archive NAS. 200 GB stored three times over.
Proxy folders you can no longer tell apart from the originals. Both .mov files, both 1080p, both named almost the same.
Render output in four resolutions of the same clip, saved in folders you no longer recognize. All kept, just in case.
DaVinci and Premiere project files with version numbers.
project_FINAL_def_v3.drp says it all.
What you get
Footage is heavy. Stop paying for more storage when you already have the same files three times.
Open your browser, select your folders, go. No plugin, no extension, nothing to configure.
Local SSD, external drives, synced folder: all in one scan. Compare everything at once.
How it works
Built for the way editors actually manage their files. Or rather, don't.
Local drive, NAS and external drives at the same time. Everything your browser can access, DupliFind scans.
Finds files that are byte-for-byte identical, regardless of name or location. Same footage imported twice? Found.
Same clip, different export settings or resolution? The Pro scanner finds those too.
Arrow right to delete, arrow left to keep. Work through your duplicates so fast it almost feels satisfying.
Automatically keep the highest resolution, newest export or largest file. You set the rule.
No uploads, no account, no cloud. Your footage never leaves your drive. Full stop.

I had my entire project archive in three places. DupliFind found 120 GB of duplicates in under 10 minutes. I had no idea the drive was that full.Remi, video editor
Questions
Specific to footage formats, project files and large drive setups.
Yes. DupliFind works at the file level. R3D, BRAW, ProRes .mov: it does not matter. Exact byte-for-byte copies are always found, regardless of format.
No, to be honest. DupliFind finds identical files, files that are byte-for-byte the same. Two renders of the same sequence, even if visually identical, are different files if the encoding differs even slightly. For exact copies (same export saved twice, same clip imported twice), it works perfectly.
Yes. You can select multiple folders at once. Just add your proxy folder alongside your originals, and DupliFind shows you which are exact duplicates.
No. DupliFind reads files and lets you decide what to delete. It does not automatically touch your project files. Never delete a file your project still references without checking first.
DupliFind reads only the first and last megabyte of each file, plus the file size. A 500 GB drive of footage scans in minutes, not hours.
