How a browser can read your drive
Modern browsers (Chrome, Edge, Brave) have the File System Access API. With it you grant DupliFind one-time access to a folder you choose yourself, and only that folder.
All processing, the hashing and comparing, happens on your own Mac. No file or filename goes anywhere. You can see it yourself in your network tab.
What DupliFind scans
Choose up front what you are looking for: all files, images only or video only. Then DupliFind scans your internal drive, external drives and network drives, anything your Mac shows in Finder.
A focused scan is faster: search video only and your photos are not even read.
Identical or similar
Identical files are byte for byte the same, that is 100% certain and works for every type: documents, RAW, video, zip, anything.
For photos the Pro scan also finds visually similar ones, handy with re-exports and light edits.
Done in three steps
- Open the app and choose your folders
- Pick the scope and start the scan
- Review the groups, keep one copy and clean up the rest to quarantine
